Ashwini Vaishnaw, the minister of communications and information technology, announced on Thursday that very soon, high-speed 5G services will be made available in various areas of the nation, including Odisha. Vaishnaw stated that Odisha will receive 5G service in the very first phase while speaking with reporters in Puri.
Asked about any impact of the 5G radiation on human beings, he said: “The amount of radiation it will give forth is 10 times less than the radiation norms set by the World Health Organisation (WHO). So, no one should worry about it.”
Vaishnaw had earlier requested that the telecom service providers be prepared for the launch of 5G following the issue of spectrum allocation letters.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi stated that 5G services would soon be available in India during his Independence Day speech from the Red Fort’s ramparts.
Vaishnaw, who is also the railways minister, has meanwhile requested that a foot over bridge (FOB) be built in Birapratappur close to Chandanpur in the Puri district.
The residents of Birapratappur complained to Vaishnaw during his visit about how difficult it is for schoolchildren to cross the railroad tracks. Train tracks split the hamlet in half. Even on holidays, it was difficult for people to drag the chariot of the local temple across the railroad tracks. In addition to this, locals’ regular activities were being hindered. He immediately gave them the go-ahead to build the FOB with a ramp facility in response to the locals’ complaint.
