5 Unstoppable Amazon Builds in Path of Exile 2 (Patch 0.4)

The Amazon ascendancy continues dominating Path of Exile 2’s meta despite Ritualist buffs in patch 0.4. With exceptional Critical Hit scaling and versatile playstyles, she offers incredible endgame potential. Whether you prefer ranged projectiles or melee shapeshifting, these five builds will carry you through the toughest content.

Path of Exile 2 : Top Amazon Builds at a Glance

1. Werewolf Amazon: Shred and Freeze

Transform into a frost-infused predator with this shapeshifting powerhouse. According to Path of Exile 2’s official mechanics, shapeshifting provides universal access to primal forms, and the Werewolf excels at freezing enemies while dealing devastating melee damage.

Core Skills Setup:

• Shred: Long Fuse + Cold Attunement + Close Combat + Rapid Attacks
• Cross Slash: Cold Attunement + Inexorable Critical + Magnified Area
• Lunar Assault: Rage + Deep Freeze + Elemental Armament

Strategy: Generate Rage, activate Lunar Blessing, then watch Moonbeams rain down with every hit. For bosses, Shred creates ice fragments you converge with Cross Slash for massive burst damage. This melee-focused approach rewards aggressive play.

2. Bleed Rake Amazon: Damage Over Time Mastery

Perfect for players who enjoy tactical positioning! Rake inflicts Bleed in AoE, dealing damage as enemies chase you. Movement converts Bleed into Aggravated Bleed for exponential damage scaling.

Essential Combo:

• Rake: Momentum + Overextended + Heft + Deep Cuts
• Herald of Blood: Magnified Area + Execute + Pin
• Blood Hunt: Magnified Area + Rapid Attacks + Armor Break

This build mirrors popular DoT strategies but with unique kiting mechanics. Herald of Blood explodes enemies killed by Blood Loss, creating chain reactions across packs.

3. Lightning Arrow Amazon: The Classic Zapper

The nerfed-but-still-deadly fan favorite! Despite patch 0.4 reducing Lightning Rod cap from 20 to 10, this build remains exceptional for both mapping and bossing.

Skill Configuration:

• Lightning Arrow: Projectile Acceleration + Elemental Armament + Rapid Attacks
• Lightning Rod: Lightning Attunement + Stoicism
• Barrage: Cooldown Recovery + Rapid Casting

Drop Lightning Rods across the battlefield, fire Lightning Arrows to chain damage, then unleash Barrage volleys against tanky targets. The Stalking Panther ascendancy passive grants crucial Evasion during prolonged encounters.

4. Ice Shot Amazon: Freeze and Shatter Everything

Want to freeze entire screens? Ice Shot paired with Herald of Ice creates devastating shatter chains. While the removal of ‘Bow Fires an Additional Arrow’ from Path of Exile 2’s modifier pool reduced Nova Projectiles effectiveness, the core damage remains incredible.

Recommended Uniques:

• Cadiro’s Gambit: Guaranteed Crits or returning projectiles
• The Black Insignia: Tailwind on Critical Hits

This build excels at high-speed mapping but requires significant investment for endgame optimization.

5. Explosive Grenade Amazon: Blow Everything Up

Projectile-based AoE carnage! Recent buffs to grenades make this crossbow build surprisingly viable. With Explosive Grenade’s cooldown reduced to four seconds, you can spam destruction more frequently.

Full Rotation:

• Explosive Grenade: Multishot + Deliberation + Elemental Focus + Payload
• Oil Grenade: Multishot + Persistent Ground + Wildfire
• Mortar Cannon: Fire multiple grenade types simultaneously

Pair with Herald of Ash for fire damage proliferation. The grenade crafting system offers extensive customization for both early leveling and endgame scaling.
