1. Sachin Tendulkar

The most hundreds in Test cricket are held by former India batsman Sachin Tendulkar. Tendulkar, who is regarded as one of cricket’s all-time best batters, scored 51 hundreds in the game’s longest format. The right-hander, who made his Test debut against Pakistan in 1989, accumulated 15,921 runs in 200 Test matches at a commendable average of 53.78, including 68 fifty-plus scores. It continues to be the most runs ever scored in a Test match of cricket. The player, who was born in Maharashtra, is also the leading run-scorer in the annals of world cricket.

2. Rahul Dravid

Rahul Dravid of India rounds out the top five list of Test cricket hundreds. With 13288 runs scored in 164 games with an average of 52.31, Dravid finished his Test career. He has smashed a total of 36 test centuries in his career.

3. Sunil Gavaskar

Sunil Gavaskar, who played in 125 Test matches and amassed 10,122 runs, is regarded as one of the finest opening batters in cricket history. He set the record for most runs until Allan Border surpassed it as the first batter to amass 10,000 Test runs. Before Tendulkar overtook Gavaskar’s record of 34 Test hundreds in December 2005, it had been nearly two decades since Gavaskar set it.

4. Virat Kohli

A century was recorded by Kohli on an Australian trip in January 2012 after he made his Test debut against the West Indies in 2011.  With scores of 115 and 141 in the opening Test of the 2014–15 Border–Gavaskar Trophy, he became the fourth Indian player to record hundreds in both innings of a Test match. During the series, he was named the Test team’s captain, and he made history by being the first player to record hundreds in each of his first three innings as captain. He mustered a total of 27 centuries so far in Test cricket.

5. Virender Sehwag

Sehwag is fifth on the list of top Test century producers for India and has struck hundreds in Tests against all other countries who play the game, excluding Zimbabwe and Bangladesh. With 105 runs against South Africa in 2001, he became the eleventh Indian player to record a century on his Test debut. At fourteen cricket fields, eight of which were outside of India, he has recorded centuries. In this style, he has amassed 23 centuries in total.
