Mark your calendars, K-pop fans. The 2026 Korea Grand Music Awards (KGMA) is shaping up to be one of the biggest nights in Korean music this year — and the hosting lineup for Day 1 just dropped, and it’s a pairing nobody saw coming but everybody is here for.
Actress Nam Ji Hyun and rising K-pop star RESCENE’s Woni have officially been confirmed as the MCs for the first night of the ceremony. And honestly? The contrast of a veteran actress and a fresh-faced idol makes for exactly the kind of dynamic energy a big awards show needs.
Everything You Need to Know About 2026 KGMA
According to the KGMA organizing committee, Nam Ji Hyun and Woni will host the first day of the 2026 KGMA, scheduled to be held at the Gocheok Sky Dome in Seoul on November 7 and 8.

Nam Ji Hyun: The KGMA’s Trusted Anchor
Nam Ji Hyun will be serving as an MC for the third consecutive year, following her hosting roles in 2024 and 2025. In 2024 — the inaugural year of the KGMA — she hosted alongside NewJeans’ Hanni and aespa’s Winter. Last year, she worked alongside Red Velvet’s Irene and KISS OF LIFE’s Natty.
Three consecutive years says everything. She’s not just a familiar face — she’s become the reliable backbone of this ceremony, and the organizers clearly trust her to hold the stage with grace and warmth.
Woni: The New Voice of a Generation
Woni debuted as a member of RESCENE in March 2024, with the group having released tracks including “LOVE ATTACK,” “Runaway,” “UhUh,” “Pinball,” and “Glow Up.” She is currently building a personal following through her approachable, down-to-earth charm on her YouTube channel.
From debut to major awards show host in just over two years — that trajectory speaks volumes about how much traction Woni has built in a short time.
The K-pop awards ceremony circuit has always been a platform where stars are made and moments go viral globally, and the 2026 KGMA looks set to carry that tradition forward in style.
