With the festive season underway, Jeep India is celebrating with the launch of the updated 2025 Jeep Meridian. It is not a facelift, it is just an update that brings in more features and variants for the festive season. The Jeep Meridian is also offered as a 5-seater for the first time.
The All New 2025 Jeep Meridian
The 3-row version of the Jeep Compass has been on sale for a while but its premium positioning and pricing have seen it struggle in terms of sales. The Meridian for example sold just 55 units in September 2024, a decline of -38.89% year-on-year and also down by -8.33% month-on-month followed by the Exposed Front Brake with zero sale output in both compared periods.
To improve sales during the festive season, Jeep has launched the updated Meridian, starting at ₹24.99 lakh (ex-showroom). This new model hopes to flip its course for how it sells the vehicle as there is a 5-seat version being offered now and advances in driver assistance systems (ADAS) with up to ten features, they claim.
The SUV will be available in 4 trims – Longitude, Longitude Plus, Limited (O), and Overland with the basic Cristiano layout which offers seating for five and a boot space of 670 liters along with the Uconnect system that measures around an impressive 10.1 inches large. More luxuries are piled on higher trims, with the just launched ADAS system another reason to go for the Overland.
There are no exterior design changes, and the 2025 Jeep Meridian maintains its original look. New suede inserts with copper-accented and stitched details, as well are available trim-dependent. Also of note are a panoramic sunroof, heated and ventilated seats, and Uconnect telematics. The only engine in the lineup is a 2.0L diesel unit that makes 170 PS and punches out 250 Nm of torque paired to either a 6-speed manual or a 9-speed automatic transmission. It uses both a 4X2 as well as a 4X4 drivetrain that is linked with the Jeep Selec-Terrain system, depending upon the trim levels.
Kumar Priyesh, Brand Director of Jeep India, stated, “The Jeep Meridian was born from our understanding of the growing demand for a premium model for customers who have progressed through Jeep’s lineup. The Meridian will usher in a new phase for Jeep in India, offering a distinctive personality with imposing and sophisticated design, premium finishes, and cutting-edge technology, all while retaining the legendary adventure capabilities expected from a Jeep. With the additional variants, we’re excited to cater to a diverse audience, staying true to our commitment to making Jeep more accessible to enthusiasts in India.”
