The new hybrid system should make its way into the Lexus LS before the end of the decade, so it will be the first time we see it available in a U.S.-spec car. BMW is rumored to be introducing the refreshed version of its 7th generation 325e later this year, with a redesign that’s expected to also bring some changes to its design as well as new materials for the interior.
These are the noises at the time of packaging, and the refreshed model will be starting production in July 2024 and might arrive in India by 2025.
The All New 2025 BMW 3 Series
Those exterior revisions entail new paint options: Arctic Race Blue metallic and Vegas Red metallic, as well as individual choices: Frozen Pure Grey metallic and Frozen Portimao Blue metallic. Also new are headlamps, daytime running lights (DRLs) that are once again vertically positioned, and 19-inch alloy wheels in a Y-spoke pattern.
Changes on the inside include the new two-spoke steering wheel for the 330i and a flat-bottom, three-spoke wheel for both the M340i and 330i iterations. This is complemented by 3-zone automatic purely automatic air conditioning and 9 color ambient lighting around the air vents which can be regulated in terms of brightness.
Inside, the 330i comes with Fineline Lightwood, and the M340i has an M Aluminum Rhombicle trim. In addition to the sport treatment, the M340i includes Aluminum Fine Brushed or Ash Grey open-pore wood and carbon fiber accents.
A key feature is the new infotainment system implemented with BMW’s latest 8.5 OS unit and connected to BMW iDrive with QuickSelect, helping to improve its functionality and attractiveness.
By way of performance, the 2025 BMW 3-Series 340i will feature a 3.0-liter TwinPower Turbo inline-six engine with a 48V mild hybrid system that produces 386 horsepower and 539 Nm of torque, combined with an 8-speed automatic gearbox. It takes 4.1 seconds to sprint to 100 km/h and tops out at 250 km/h.
The 330i gets a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder turbocharged mild hybrid engine that produces 255 hp and 400 Nm. The highest electric autonomy of 101 km, 19.5 kWh battery pack, surpassing that of the competition, among others.
BMW also refreshed the suspension system of the New 3-Series, one that comes up with stiffer rear shock mounts for better steering responses in Comfort Mode, as well. Production is slated to commence in mid-2024, with models expected to arrive at dealerships in early 2025, competing against rivals like the Mercedes-Benz C-Class and Audi A4.
