2023 MacBook Air with 15-inch Display will enter into mass-production Q4 of 2023

As Apple considers a new MacBook Air form factor, TF International Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo predicts the 15-inch device will be dubbed something else entirely.

It’s unclear whether this is something he learned via the supply chain or something he made up on the spot. In any event, new names would make it easier for customers to distinguish between the ordinary 13.3-inch MacBook Air and the larger one.

Analyst Ross Young had previously been silent on the 15-inch MacBook Air’s mass manufacturing timeframe. Fortunately, according to Kuo, if all goes according to plan, Apple might begin mass production in the fourth quarter, with the portable Mac becoming accessible to customers shortly after. He also believes that the 15-inch display will use more power than the 13.3-inch panel, but that Apple’s intention is to offer the larger model with the same 30-watt power adaptor.

Despite the fact that the 15-inch display may require more power, Apple can counter the panel’s high power consumption rating with a larger battery because the MacBook Air’s overall footprint will be larger. Future customers may be able to experience all-day battery life thanks to a bigger capacity cell combined with Apple Silicon’s energy efficiency.

Although Kuo did not specify pricing in his tweets, a 15-inch MacBook Air will have a larger display, more build materials, a larger battery, and more, so anticipate it to be more expensive than the 13.3-inch model, assuming Apple does not abandon it. Although Kuo’s track record when it comes to Apple products and launch dates is legendary, we nevertheless encourage our readers to take all of this information with a grain of salt for the time being.
