Twitter Blue program has been relaunched with various badge colours for corporations, government accounts, and individuals. Twitter will now charge $11 per month for a Twitter Blue subscription on the iPhone in order to account for Apple’s 30% cut on in-app purchases but will cost $8 per month on the web.

Twitter verified accounts now showing Gold, Blue or Grey ticks: What does each colour tick mean?

  • Gold tick – This colour has been assigned to verified companies or official business accounts.
  • Grey tick – This colour has been given to verified government accounts or accounts affiliated with the government and monitored by Twitter.
  • Blue tick – This colour has been kept for individuals.

Twitter said in an official statement: “Starting today, when you subscribe your account will get access to subscriber-only features including Edit Tweet, 1080p video uploads, reader mode, and a blue checkmark (once your account has been reviewed).”

“Soon, subscribers with the blue checkmark will get priority ranking in search, mentions, and replies to help lower the visibility of scams, spam and bots,” the micro-blogging platform added.

Your Twitter account must be at least 90 days old and it should have a confirmed phone number to subscribe to Blue badge. Twitter CEO Elon Musk has also said earlier that a basic Blue subscription will have half the number of ads.
