Yes, AMD took time to launch their new RDNA3-based gaming GPUs in the market but they have nailed it totally. Launching their absolute flagship RX 7900 XTX GPU and the mass market flagship RX 7900 XT, bringing the industry’s first DisplayPort 2.1 standard to GPUs.

Why it’s a big deal? It is because the new DisplayPort standards will be the next-gen of high-end gaming with extremely high refresh rate support. So, having that support will help gamers to get a future-proof flagship GPU which will unlock 4K 480Hz gaming which is still a big deal in 2022.

As we discussed in our RX 7000 series launch article, RX 7900 XTX and RX 7900 XT both are high-end cards with a minor price difference but deliver incredible performance uplift while still maintaining the same power consumption as last year. The main thing here as we’re talking, AMD is betting to provide a high refresh rate and help games take advantage of next-gen DisplayPort and the monitors which are scheduled to launch in 2023.

This new standard will help provide 1440p gaming at an incredible 900Hz refresh rate and 8K gaming at 165Hz. Also, AMD demoed the new GPUs running on the latest games like Forza Horizon 5 running 8K 60FPS+ and FSR that increases considerably and letting people enjoy that with high-end 8K monitors with up to 165Hz refresh launching in 2023.

Great news gamers! Gear up for high-resolution, high refresh rate gaming from this fall onwards!
