Barcelona have quoted Chelsea a price tag of €30 million for the transfer of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. The Blues have identified the Gabon international as a top target to bolster their frontline, following the departures of Romelu Lukaku and Timo Werner.

But, it is much higher than what Chelsea are willing to pay for the striker. As a result, they will try to find a solution with Barcelona for a lower price.

Xavi has said that he wants the player to remain at Camp Nou for the coming season. And by the looks of things, the player wouldn’t mind staying either, which means Chelsea have some work to do this week to get the deal finalised.

“I’m counting on him. Those I don’t count on, they know from already.

“I’m counting on Aubameyang. But, also I don’t know what will happen between now and the 31st.

“I like him, I think he can help us a lot. I’m delighted with him,” Xavi said in a press conference.

Marcos Alonso is also being discussed between the two clubs, with the player very close to sealing a move away. However, he could be included in the deal involving Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang moving in the other direction.

Todd Boehly is keen to get the transfer wrapped up this week, and it will be interesting to see how things develop over the coming days.
