Chelsea have made a £55 million offer for Jules Kounde, as they push to complete the transfer. The bid is close to Sevilla’s asking price for the player, and the transfer could be confirmed as soon as today, with advanced negotiations set to take place.

Barcelona have agreed personal terms with Kounde for a transfer as well. But, won’t be able to pay the €40 million that Sevilla want up-front. Due to their financial constraints, they will prefer paying that amount in installments, which the Basque side are not keen on.

Jules Kounde closer to Chelsea move

The Blaugrana have been shocked by Chelsea’s revived interest in the Frenchman after it was cooled off. The Blues have a representative in Seville negotiating directly with the club for the centre-back. Moreover, their offer is more likely to be accepted by the Spanish side.

Sevilla would prefer not selling to a direct rival, and Chelsea’s bid is also financially better. Jules Kounde had agreed personal terms with them a year ago. And a five-year contract until 2027 seems to be agreed upon this time as well.

Barcelona have asked the player to reject Chelsea’s offer since he has told Xavi that he would like to play at Camp Nou. But, he is open to a move to London as well. Today is an important day in the transfer saga since the Premier League side are expected to finalise the deal. So, more updates will follow.
