Yesterday, Google revealed that all Android 12 devices are now compatible with the iOS users’ Switch to Android app. The iOS software, which was released earlier this year, helps users migrate their contacts, calendar, photographs, and videos to their new Android phone, simplifying the process of switching between mobile platforms. The app was formerly exclusive to Pixel phones.

By presenting a QR code on your iPhone that you may scan to begin transferring your data to your new Android phone, the app starts the transfer process. You will be given the option to use the new Switch to Android app or your iPhone cord to wirelessly link your old iPhone and new Android phone.

The program provides additional transfer instructions, such as how to deregister iMessage so that you can continue receiving texts on the new Android smartphone, in addition to moving data

“Starting today, support for the Switch to Android app on iOS is rolling out to all Android 12 phones, so you can move over some important information from your iPhone to your new Android seamlessly,” said Liza Ma, a group product manager at Android, in a blog post. “Once you’ve got your new Android phone, follow our easy setup instructions to go through the data transfer process.”

Google encouraged customers to utilize the Google Drive iOS app to back up their contacts, calendar, photos, and videos before switching from an iPhone to an Android device. The new Switch to Android app serves the same purpose, albeit more swiftly and conveniently.
