Qualcomm has announced that the Snapdragon Spaces XR Developer Platform, which is developed to assist engineers and creators in creating next-generation metaverse settings and products, is now available for usage.

A suitable dev-kit composed of Lenovo/Motorola hardware with 8 Gen 1 and XR1 chips is available from the OEM. Snapdragon Spaces is a new resource for extended reality (XR) developers to solidify its position as a “key enabler of the metaverse.”

The new platform by Qualcomm is now available to its intended audience of makers

According to the company, it is cross-platform and has a complete ecosystem to assist developers in creating new landscapes that are as realistic and convincing as possible.

However, it now specifically offers a hardware version of the platform, which comprises one of the world’s most recent flagship Android smartphones and an AR viewer to connect to it.

Qualcomm has allegedly teamed with Lenovo to introduce this new package, which includes commercial-grade ThinkReality A3 glasses and the Motorola Edge Plus with a 144Hz display (although without UDC). In the United States, the new Snapdragon Spaces Hardware Development Kit costs $1,999, which is roughly $999 more than the new top-end phone alone.

However, the Kit is no longer required for access to Snapdragon Spaces, as the SDK is now available for download separately.
