AMD’s upcoming Radeon RX 6650 XT offers only a minor performance improvement then RX 6600 XT

According to local speculation, the Radeon RX 6650 XT will be released soon to compete with the greatest graphics cards on the market. However, according to new research received by VideoCardz, the Radeon RX 6650 XT may not be significantly quicker than the existing Radeon RX 6600 XT.

Despite all of the rumours, it’s still unclear whether the Radeon RX 6650 XT will use the same Navi 23 hardware as the Radeon RX 6600 XT. Because AMD is unlikely to upgrade the silicon, the Radeon RX 6650 XT should keep its 2,048 stream processors and 32 ray accelerators.

The reference Radeon RX 6650 XT is said to have a 2,410 game clock and a 2,635 MHz boost clock, according to leaked specifications. The base Radeon RX 6600 XT has a game clock of 2,359 MHz and a boost clock of 2,589 MHz. As a result, we should expect a 2.2 per cent increase in the former and a 1.8 per cent increase in the latter.

Dual-BIOS is supported by the Radeon RX 6650 XT Hellhound. The Silent Mode follows the reference specification, whereas the OC Mode employs a modest factory overclock. In OC Mode, the Radeon RX 6600 XT Hellhound has a game clock of 2,382 MHz and a boost clock of 2,593 MHz. The Radeon RX 6650 XT Hellhound is said to have a 2,486 MHz game clock and 2,689 MHz boost clock when used in the same mode, representing 4.4 per cent and 3.7 per cent increase, respectively.

AMD’s Radeon RX 6650 XT will not come with 18 Gbps RAM

According to VideoCardz, AMD will instead use 17.5 Gbps RAM, which is 1.5 Gbps faster than the GDDR6 chips found in the Radeon RX 6600 XT. The Radeon RX 6600 XT has a maximum memory bandwidth of 256 GBps, whereas the Radeon RX 6650 XT has a maximum memory bandwidth of 280 Gbps. It’s simply an increase of 9.4 per cent.

Clock speed and memory improvements usually result in a greater TBP (typical board power). Unfortunately, VideoCardz was unable to collect that information. However, the recommended power supply capacity was increased from 500W to 600W in the publication. As a result, it’s reasonable to expect the Radeon RX 6650 XT to have a greater TBP. The Radeon RX 6600 XT was rated at 160W by AMD, therefore the Radeon RX 6650 XT could be approximately 170W to 180W. In any case, the Radeon RX 6650 XT Hellhound from PowerColor only has a single 8-pin PCIe power connector, thus the TBP increase should be minimal.
