AMD still outselling Intel thanks to discounts on Ryzen 5000 processors

As per the latest Mindfactory weekly sales report brought to you by @TechEpiphany, AMD is still outselling Intel but the margin is now 60:40 rather than the 70:30 ratio we saw back in 2021. This is due to Intel’s latest 12th Gen processors flourishing in the market with a lot of cores for really attractive prices.

However, people who know about AMD’s efficient chips and want a platform that doesn’t cost much are still opting for the discounted Ryzen 5000 series processors. As you see in the CPU Retail Sales of Mindfactory as of Week 14 in 2022, AMD had 2950 units sold obtaining as much as 62.24% market share and a higher ASP of 295.95 Euro.

On the side of Intel, it also sold a handsome 1790 units, gaining 37.76% market share thanks to its great pricing and availability of these 12th gen SKUs. The dour best-selling processors were by AMD and the Ryzen 5 5600X is the best-seller while for Intel, the Core i5 12400F is the best one.

Also, the new CPUs for AMD i.e. the Ryzen 7 5700X, Ryzen 5 5600 and Ryzen 5 5500 accounts for 10% of AMD sales last week. So, gamers have a plethora of CPU options to choose from and now as GPUs get close to MSRP, more enthusiasts are going for PC builds more than ever!
