Chrysler announced at CES 2022 that they will only be selling electric cars by 2028. They showcased the shift in their inventions by revealing the Airflow crossover SUV concept.

This is similar to the pre-existing Tesla Model Y and Ford Mustang Mach-E.

Stellantis, the company that owns the EV producers, is a conglomeration formed last year when the French PSA Group merged with Fiat Chrysler. They are the fourth largest automakers in the world.

The merged brand intends for Chrysler to serve as the face of its electric vehicles branch.

Last year, they announced a plan for the electrification of most of their current models on the market. One of them is the Dodge Ram 1500, alongside an electric muscle car and various Jeep models.

What details have been revealed for Airflow

There will be two 150kW motors in two of the axles, making up an all-wheel drive. While the company has not provided an accurate detail of the battery or the energy per charge, they indicated that the vehicle could go around 350-400 miles per charge.

The Chrysler Airflow Concept debuts with the company’s STLA platform, 350+ miles of range, heavy digitalized cabin, level 3 autonomous driving, 402 HP dual-motor setup, and 22 inch wheels. The Airflow will come with STLA AutoDrive advanced driver assist system (ADAS), and comes with Level 3 capabilities. At this level, the driver still needs to be able to take the wheel upon request. Software updates will be downloaded over the air.
