Earlier this morning, Apple announced that the Apple TV 4K set-top box will launch in Korea on November 4 in tandem with the availability of the company’s TV+ video streaming service. With this launch, Apple TV+  will become available in the country for the first time, accessible through the Apple TV App, Apple TV 4K, Apple TV HD, and Apple One.

To celebrate its digital service’s availability in the country, Apple will premiere its first Korean original series, “Dr. Brain,” on the same day. “Dr. Brain” is a Korean-language show based on the popular Korean webtoon of the same name. The show is written and directed by filmmaker Kim Jee-Woon, best known for “A Tale of Two Sisters” and “I Saw the Devil,” and stars Lee Sun-Kyun, best known for “Parasite.”

Korean users who have bought an eligible Apple device on or after September 17, 2021, will get Apple TV+ free for three months.

According to reports, Apple will cooperate with SK Broadband, a local Internet service provider in South Korea, to launch Apple TV + services. Apple TV + service in South Korea is priced at 6,500 won (roughly 5.5 US Dollars) per month.

Apple TV+ is available on the Apple TV app in over 100 countries and regions, on over 1 billion screens, including iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, Mac, popular smart TVs from Samsung, LG, Sony, VIZIO, TCL and others, Roku, and Amazon Fire TV devices, Chromecast with Google TV, PlayStation and Xbox gaming consoles, and at tv.apple.com, for $4.99 per month with a seven-day free trial.
