Cyberpunk 2077 performs extremely well with NVIDIA’s raytracing and DLSS

Cyberpunk 2077 is one of the most anticipated games of this year. The game developed by CD PROJECT RED, the same studio that gave us The Witcher 3, is a multi-platform game. The game has faced many issues with the development and several more problems with the game’s release. Many testers have already gotten to try the game, and we have much information about the game floating around.

As one might expect, the game is still riddled with bugs, and according to reports, the developers will be releasing the 50 GB+ Day 0 patch for the game on its launch date. But today, we will be talking about the performance of the game and how CD PROJECT RED will be dealing with its game’s underlying issues.

NVIDIA and Team CD have been collaborating for a long time now. And as expected, Cyberpunk 2077 will come with the green team’s raytracing and support for its DLSS technology. The features will be directly launched with the game on its launch date of December 10th.

In terms of AMD, the team is expected to have it’s game ready driver during the game’s launch. Consider how Cyberpunk 2077 is one of the most exciting topics ever; AMD doesn’t want its users to miss the action using its news launched Radeon RX cards.

Tomshardware had the game tested at both the Medium and Ultra preset running at 1080p, 1440p, and 2160p resolutions. Here are the game performance results on both NVIDIA and AMD without any Raytracing and DLSS modes enabled.

  • 60 FPS at 1080p (Medium) – GTX 1070 or RX 5600 XT at Minimum
  • 60 FPS at 1440p (Medium) – RTX 2060S or RX 5700 XT at Minimum
  • 60 FPS at 2160p (Medium) – RTX 3080 or RX 6800 XT at Minimum

Moving to the Ultra preset, even at 1080p, gamers would require an RTX 2060 SUPER and an RX 5700 XT or above to reach 60 FPS.

  • 60 FPS+ at 1080p (Ultra) – RTX 2060S or RX 5700 XT at Minimum
  • 60 FPS+ at 1440p (Ultra) – RTX 3070 or RX 6800 at Minimum
  • 30 FPS+ at 2160p (Ultra) – RTX 3070 or RX 6800 at Minimum

Now finally, the results with raytracing with the DLSS. And as one might expect, the game gives good performance even at 1080p with anything below RTX 2080 or 2080 SUPER. 60 FPS+ at 1080p (Ultra / RT Ultra / DLSS Q/B) – RTX 3070 and above

  • 60 FPS+ at 1080p (Ultra / RT Ultra / Native Res) – RTX 3090 and above
  • 30 FPS+ at 1440p (Ultra / RT Ultra / DLSS Q/B) – RTX 3080 and above
  • 30 FPS+ at 1440p (Ultra / RT Ultra / Native Res) – RTX 3080 and above
  • 30 FPS+ at 2160p (Ultra / RT Ultra / DLSS Q/B) – RTX 3090 and above
  • 30 FPS+ at 2160p (Ultra / RT Ultra / Native Res) – N/A

Finally, all we can say is that the game is pretty demanding, and the developers need to address this issue. But one good thing is that the game’s performance is tested on cards with non-optimized drivers and without its Day 0 patch. After the game’s release in two days and its Day 0 patch release, the game’s performance will be seemingly boosted, and we will see the performance is optimized.
