Apple reportedly testing its new iPad Mini 6

Apple has launched and upgraded a lot of its devices this year. With the launch of its new iPhone 12 5G and the advent of ARM-based MacBook devices, it seems that Apple is in the mood for revamping its whole device list. However, the iPad mini is one such device that still didn’t receive any refresh.

The mini was launched in 2012, and new models were launched every autumn until 2015, with the iPad mini four being the last of the major release. However, the company then launched the iPad mini 5 in march 2019, taking an extended break in its annual release cycle.

According to sources, Apple is currently testing its new and upcoming iPad mini 6. Not only that, but the company is also upgrading its iPad mini 5. The news was first brought forth by an alleged leaker @000leaker. The leaker also suggests that there may be other prototypes, so the final iPad mini six could differ slightly from those displayed in the prototype.

Sources claim claims that the iPad mini six will have an 8.5-inch Liquid Retina display. Along with that, the display will also come in a ‘boxy design.’ It will be powered by the A14 Bionic chipset and along with 4 GB of RAM. The mini-tablet will also support the Apple Pencil 2 too and will have a USB Type-C port.

The specifications sound cool, and it seems that the iPhone maker has taken away the hardware from iPad Air 4 and is putting it inside the iPad mini 6. The iPad mini six will supposedly have the same cameras as the iPad Air 2 too. However, sources claim that the speaker’s hardware is still the same as the iPad mini 5. As of now, there is no release date for the upcoming device. Neither does have the cost details. All we can do is wait for an official confirmation from Apple.
