Premier League 2020 summer transfer window will be open from 27th July to 5th October

The Premier League has decided to give the clubs enough time to plan and negotiate for the new season. They have officially announced on Wednesday that the 2020 summer transfer window will be opened for 10 weeks on 27th July.

The transfer window will end on 5th October for the Premier League clubs, while for EFL clubs the domestic-only transfer window will extend till 16th October. The summer transfer window usually opens one-day after the Premier League is finished but this summer it has been postponed as the Premier League is still in play.

All the Premier League shareholders have agreed on the dates of the transfer window and now it is subject to the approval of FIFA.

Premier League postponed until April 3 & Bundesliga postpones fixtures until April 2

Premier League said in a statement: “Following consultation with the EFL, a domestic-only window will be added from October 5, closing 1700 BST on October 16. During this window, Premier League clubs will only be able to trade with EFL clubs (either loans or permanent registrations). No transfers can take place between Premier League clubs in this period.”

FIFA said in April that it would be flexible with transfer windows and will allow them to be moved “so they fall between the end of the old season and the start of the new season”. So the new dates of Premier League 2020 summer transfer window would definitely be accepted by FIFA.
