LaLiga will be back in action on 11th June after 3 months of suspension due to the Coronavirus pandemic. LaLiga giants Real Madrid and Barcelona have a huge fanbase in India.

Earlier Sony Pictures Networks India used to be the broadcasting partner of LaLiga in India. But sadly, from last year there is no broadcaster in India for one of the most popular football leagues in the world.

Facebook has bought the exclusive media rights for LaLiga in the Indian Sub-Continent. Since the beginning of this season, Facebook has been live-streaming the LaLiga matches in English in India.

There’s good news for the Indian LaLiga fans. Facebook will be streaming the LaLiga matches live in India in both Hindi and English commentary. You can catch all the LaLiga action live on LaLiga’s official Facebook page.

India is a land with vast cultures and languages. Hindi is arguably the most spoken and understandable language in India. So LaLiga will be showing Hindi commentary as well. The viewers can choose English or Hindi as per their choice.

Jose Antonio Cachaza, India head of La Liga, told Mirror: “It is like cricket in India. The viewer can choose between English commentary and Hindi commentary.”

All the remaining LaLiga matches will be played behind closed doors to prevent the spread of COVID-19. No fans will be allowed inside the stadium, only the players and staffs. LaLiga has decided to use virtual images of stands in television broadcasts with added ‘fan noise’. These virtual effects would be just like the FIFA video game.

The broadcaster has the choice to broadcast the match with no virtual things or else they can choose to display the real match with virtual effects. Facebook hasn’t confirmed their choice yet.

LaLiga president Javier Tebas said: “We have made these broadcasting changes so fans can enjoy La Liga. We work with global partners to offer a great viewer experience. We are in an exceptional situation, but for us, it has been important to be able to adapt and offer a compelling, cutting-edge broadcast to our fans.”

Barcelona has a 2-point advantage over their rivals Real Madrid. Barcelona will play Mallorca on 13th June. Real Madrid will resume their campaign on 14th June. They will host Eibar at the Estadio Alfredo Di Stefano as the Santiago Bernabeu is under construction.
