Xiaomi’s POCO has made the bold start to 2020 and in India, it has launched a revamped version of the Redmi K30 under its Poco branding, named the new Poco X2. The brand has been teasing the smartphone for quite some time now and finally, it’s here.

Being a mid-range smartphone, Poco aka Xiaomi has stuffed a lot of specs and what’s the best thing is that it’s priced at only ₹15,999. Starting at that price you get features like a 6.67-inch Full HD+ Display with 120Hz refresh rate along with dual in-screen cameras.

If you think the only display is the USP of the smartphone then you’re mistaken, the smartphone packs a 64MP quad-camera with the latest Sony IMX686 sensor. On the performance front, you will be getting an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 730G paired with up to 8GB RAM + 256GB UFS 2.1 storage.

Being the first smartphone under the independent branding of Poco, the smartphone packs lots of features that are first time seen in this price bracket. The 120Hz extreme refresh rate helps to display refresh rates, more frames equal smoother viewing experience. 

This is an FHD+ HDR 10 Display with 20:9 Tall-body Design and has Dual In-screen Cameras which looks great rather than the older dot-notch display. The design is similar to the Redmi K30 and looks great with the 3D Curved Glass Body protected Corning Gorilla Glass 5 both on the front and back.

In the punch hole, we have a 20+2MP Dual In-screen Cameras that helps you to capture better selfies and the dedicated depth sensor helps you to click better bokeh photos.

On the rear front, we have a 64MP quad-camera setup Sony IMX686 sensor that lets you capture high-res pictures and gives you the freedom to capture any kind of photo with the ultra-wide and macro lens. Also, there’s RAW Image Capture support for capturing high-res images.

It’s paired with 6GB / 8GB LPDDR4X dual-channel memory and 64GB / 128GB / 256GB storage options (UFS 2.1). Then you have USB Type-C reversible connector port and a huge 4500mAh battery that can be charged with a 27W Fast Charger. On the audio front, the speakers support Qualcomm’s Hi-Fi DAC.

You have a hybrid slim i.e. nanoSIM + nanoSIM/microSD with 4G dual SIM support and obviously you have Bluetooth 5.0 & 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac Wi-Fi support and a dedicated 3.5mm headphone jack. It packs all the necessary sensors on a smartphone and on top of that, you get the MIUI 11 out-of-the-box.

Then there’s the LiquidCool Technology which helps to cool the smartphone during prolonged gaming sessions. To maintain the aesthetics we have a Side-mounted fingerprint sensor and facial unlock as well. Overall this is a great smartphone and honestly at this pricing Poco will regain its lost market in India.

The Poco X2 will be available in 3 colour variants including Phoenix Red, Matrix Purple & Atlantis Blue along with 3 variants of 8GB+256GB / 6GB+128GB / 6GB+64GB priced at ₹19,999, ₹16,999 and ₹15,999 respectively. The Poco X2 will be available on Flipkart from 11th February at 12 pm.

It will be interesting to see the fight between the Realme X2 and the Poco X2 in the coming days and how Realme reacts to the Poco X2.
