Zlatan Ibrahimovic is set to extend his contract for another season, as his current deal runs out in June 2022. Despite being 40 years old, the striker has been very important for the team. He struggled with injuries initially, but is now back in the team.

In six appearances for AC Milan in the league so far, he has scored three goals and provided one assist. According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the player is already in talks with the board for a new deal. He is currently the highest earner at AC Milan, with a salary worth €7 million per season.

Ibrahimovic is willing to continue playing for the Rossoneri, who are still unbeaten in the league this season. So, an agreement can be expected with minimal discourse between the two parties.

The Swedish international wants to appear at the 2022 World Cup, and his country is set to participate in the playoffs in March. Ibrahimovic will be banned from playing due to his challenge on Cesar Azpilicueta during their recent game against Spain.

But, if Sweden make it through, we can expect to see the veteran forward leading the line for the national team.

The trio of Rafael Leao, Theo Hernandez and Ismael Bennacer are reportedly close to reaching an agreement with AC Milan regarding a new deal. The extension will be announced within the next month.

But, the same cannot be said for Franck Kessie and Alessio Romagnoli, whose contracts expire in the summer and they are quite far from reaching an agreement with the board about a new deal.
