Despite being 39 years old, Zlatan Ibrahimovic has been one of the best strikers in Europe this season, and has been one of the main reasons behind AC Milan’s title challenge this season.

The Swedish striker has scored 14 times in the league this season, and up until one point was ahead of the rest of the league in the race for the Golden Boot. However, he is currently out injured for a couple of weeks with a groin injury.

But that said, the player is being linked with a return to the Swedish national team next week. Zlatan retired from international competition in 2016, playing his last game for the Swedish national team in Euro 2016 against Belgium. He is Sweden’s all time highest goalscorer, having netted 62 times for his country.

Alongside his sensational striking abilities, Zlatan is also a very efficient leader and could be essential in getting Sweden to the next level in terms of international competition. While it won’t be a very long return to the national team considering he turns 40 soon, any team that has the player right now has the potential to improve almost instantly due to his unbelievable motivational skills.

Sweden head coach Janne Andersson has reportedly held talks with Zlatan regarding a return to the national team.

‘When Zlatan opened up for games in the national team, it felt natural and important to meet and discuss this as soon as possible,’ Andersson said when asked about their chat.
