The great Zlatan Ibrahimovic secured another achievement in his legendary career when he became the oldest-ever goalscorer in Italy’s Serie A. The AC Milan forward achieved this landmark at the age of 41 years and 166 days, with his goal that came in a retaken penalty. However, it wasn’t a very good day for AC Milan, as they faced a 3-1 defeat against Udinese, but Zlatan Ibramovic’s goal was certainly the major attraction of the match.
The match
The match started with Udinese getting an early lead in the likes of Roberto Pereyra, who scored the first goal of the match in the 9th minute. However, as mentioned, the central attraction came in the extra time of the first half when Zlatan Ibrahimovic equalized with their opposition with his brilliant penalty kick.
However, things weren’t favorable for AC Milan for long, as in the extra time only, Udinese got a lead again with a goal coming from Beto. Though AC Milan was fighting back, as the percentage of ball possession was on their side, somehow, they were not able to score the goal. Things just got out of hand when Udinese player Kingsley Ehizibue scored a goal in the 70th minute, taking his team to a score of 3-1.
Ibrahimovic unable to take AC Milan towards victory
Though Ibrahimovic’s brilliant goal from the penalty gave great enthusiasm to the fans, hardly anyone expected that they would face a 3-1 defeat in the match. Coming to the stats of the match, AC Milan was not only ahead of their opposition in terms of ball possession, they were also ahead for playing the passes, pass accuracy and even shots on target. However, AC Milan is expected to come back stronger in their upcoming match against Napoli.
