Saturday’s game pitting Osasuna against Real Madrid ended in a 0-0 draw that saw both the teams share a point each. Despite the scoreline not registering any change since the opening whistle, there were plenty of chances created throughout the match.

The hosts managed to dominate the creativity in the first half of the game, and Real Madrid slowly grew into the game following the half time whistle. A scrambling opening goal from Karim Benzema around the hour mark was correctly ruled out for offside by VAR.

Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane was not happy with the Spanish FA’s decision of letting the match go through despite it snowing for almost the entirety of the match.

The journey to Pamplona was already a challenging one for the visitors, with their flight being delayed by about three hours.

Spain has been heavily hit by the storm Filomena that has seen the majority of the country covered in white. Here is what Zidane had to say regarding the issue:

“We did what we could do on the field but it was not a football match,” Zidane said. “The conditions were very difficult.”

“Everything that has happened these two days has been very complicated. We do not know when we can return.”

“Clearly, the match against Osasuna should have been postponed,” Zidane said. “That is clear.

“The conditions to play football were not met, which in the end is what everyone wants. As much for us as our opponents.”

Real Madrid currently find themselves second in the table, behind Atletico Madrid, who are a point clear, with three games in hand.
