Youri Tielemans Leicester to open contract talks with Tielemans; Arsenal

Youri Tielemans will be leaving Leicester City at the end of the season, after rejecting several contract offers from the club. Three big clubs – Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United are interested in signing him in the summer transfer window.

The Belgian is one of the priorities for Arsenal this summer, and has been extensively discussed by the club internally. They are hopeful of sealing his signing as they hope to rebuild the team and add to the success of the ongoing season.

The player is also considering a move to Spain, if he doesn’t find a suitable project or offer in England. Real Madrid have been linked with the 25-year-old’s signing, but no concrete offer has been made for him just yet.

Leicester City are hopeful of recuperating around €35-40 million for the player when the transfer window opens up for business. They signed him for €45 million in 2019, and he has established himself as a vital part of Brendan Rodgers’ side over the last few years. It was his screamer in Wembley Stadium that won Leicester the FA Cup against Chelsea last summer.

His current deal runs out in June 2023, and Leicester City will need to sell Youri Tielemans this summer or risk losing him for free a year later. With several top clubs interested in him, it will be interesting to see where the 49-time Belgium international plays his football next season.
