### 1. Pyre: A Quiet Film That Hits Hard

Directed by Vinod Kapri, *Pyre* follows Padam and Tulsi, an elderly couple who herd goats in a mountain village that has slowly emptied out. Younger generations have left for the cities. The couple has spent nearly 30 years waiting for their son Harish, who left and never came back.

Their health is failing, and one question hangs over them: who will perform their last rites? Expect a slow, emotional watch about rural abandonment. Bring tissues.

### 2. Nakhrewaalii: The Theatrical Wildcard

This one is also listed as a slice-of-life drama releasing in theatres on October 30. The cast includes Ansh Duggal, Pragati Srivastava, Akash Makhija, Farhana Fatema, Neeta Satnani, Aman Shah and Rishi Raj Bhasin.

The source article repeats *Pyre*’s plot under this title, so the real storyline isn’t confirmed yet. Check the official trailer or poster before booking.

### 3. Love Story Abhimanyu Ki: Romance With Muscle

Directed by Ankit Bhadana, this film mixes romance, high-octane action and a socially sensitive narrative. It explores personal relationships, intense conflicts and emotional drama set against wider societal tensions. If you want a theatre outing with heart and punches, this is the one.

### 4. Akka: Power, Gold and a Sisterhood

*Akka* is the big OTT release of the week, streaming on Netflix. It stars Keerthy Suresh and Radhika Apte and is directed by Dharmaraj Shetty. Keerthy plays Bhavani, matriarch of Pernuru in the 1980s.

The town is run by a powerful group of women called the Akkas, meaning sisters. This elite sisterhood has controlled the gold trade and held power through a force of female warriors for over 800 years. With two strong leads facing off, a power struggle looks inevitable.

This family drama also streams on Netflix. It’s directed by Radhika Bansal and stars Ritwik Bhowmik, Ayesha Raza and Rohini Hattangadi.

A large, multi-generational and famously nosey family gathers at their maternal grandmother’s home in Lucknow for Diwali. Expect warmth and a lot of unsolicited opinions. It’s an easy watch for the festive mood.
