The €38 million fee is the highest-ever amount paid for a player from Gambia, and makes the 19-year-old a special transfer already. Brighton are not a club that spends a lot on transfers, which makes the amount spent even more significant.
Yankuba Minteh spent this past season on loan at Feyenoord, scoring 11 goals and providing six assists in 37 games across all competitions, while also making a handful of appearances in the Champions League.
The Seagulls are known for their incredible scouting, and this could be yet another case of them discovering a hidden gem first. Minteh has the backing of the numbers to build on his raw talent, and will join a team already full of exciting young talent.
Will Kaoru Mitoma be sold this summer?
