Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun officially introduced the XRING 01 chipset, and shortly after, a benchmark leak surfaced online, offering the first glimpse of its performance.
While Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite still edges it out just a bit, the margin isn’t enough to prevent you from wondering whether Xiaomi‘s ten-year-long investment in chip R&D is finally beginning to bear fruit. This is a big milestone that will bring Xiaomi head-to-head right next to giants such as Qualcomm and MediaTek. Here are the main points.

Xiaomi XRING 01 Benchmark Leak Shows Promising Performance, Hints at 3nm Node and Cortex-X925 Core
The benchmark in question, which has been shared by tipster @Jukanelosreve, seems to be Xiaomi 25042PN24C. But we were unable to find the listing on our own. The chipset, as per the leak, has a ‘2 + 4 + 2 + 2’ core configuration, with its high-performance core – potentially ARM Cortex-X925 – clocked at 3.90GHz. This would oppose previous rumors stating the X925 ticks at 3.20GHz and also stating there wouldn’t be fully custom cores built by Xiaomi to be included, just cosmetics given to ARM’s existing designs.
The 3.90GHz clock speed suggests the XRING 01 is being made on TSMC’s 3nm process. This new node can handle higher clock speeds while remaining thermally in touch. The leak also reveals that there are four other cores running at 3.4GHz (likely also Cortex-X925), whereas the remaining cores should be the Cortex-A725 efficiency cores. In order to make up for the gap in performance with Snapdragon 8 Elite and Dimensity 9400+, Xiaomi might have increased the number of cores at the expense of power efficiency.
The XRING 01 achieved Geekbench 6 scores of 2,709 (single-core) and 8,125 (multi-core), trailing the Xiaomi 15 Pro’s 2,919 and 8,699 by about 7% in multi-core performance. Interestingly, earlier reports pointed to a ‘1 + 3 + 4’ core setup for XRING 01, unlike the ‘2 + 4 + 2 + 2’ seen here. This raises the possibility of multiple variants of the chip, perhaps tailored for different devices. Until Xiaomi confirms these details, it’s best to take this leak with a grain of salt.
