Xiaomi to begin its Car manufacturing projects within a couple of months: Report

Besides smartphones and other electronic gadgets, Xiaomi is looking to manufacture its own cars in 2021. Earlier, a few reports had come out saying that Xiaomi is thinking to work on its cars in near future. But, recent reports are saying that Xiaomi is planning to start its car manufacturing projects within the next couple of months in 2021. So, within the next 1 or 2 years, we might witness a Mi car in the streets of China and that’ll be amazing.

Lei Jun, CEO, and Founder of the company is rumored to be the head of Xiaomi’s upcoming car project as well, reports came out from close investors. Regarding the price range of Mi cars, the reports have come out saying that Mi is expected to launch cars for the mid to high-end market. As a smartphone maker is finally stepping into the automobile industry, we can expect some really good smart technologies in the upcoming Mi cars within a decent price range.

Lei Jun had a meeting with Chinese automobile maker, NIO to consult on building a car, the report further added and that meeting says that the project could start very soon, probably this month or next month. The company’s co-founder and vice president Wang Chuan will be in charge of Xiaomi’s car manufacturing, reports further added.

Xiaomi has already started planning on contracting with local automobile makers as well to start the project as soon as possible. Several car manufacturers, such as BYD, and many more are there in that list. If everything works fine, the project of manufacturing Mi cars will get started from next month and will be on the strrets within 1.5 or 2 years.
