Xiaomi: When flagship smartphones are being updated yearly with Qualcomm’s latest and greatest SoCs, it’s no wonder flagship Android tablets with a Qualcomm flagship chip are few and far between. That, however, might change soon, as a well-known tipster on X (formerly Twitter) has teased a new tablet from Xiaomi, presumably with the Snapdragon 8 Elite. It is now expected to launch later this year.

Xiaomi’s flagship tablet with Snapdragon 8 Elite is set to launch later this year: Expected Features Revealed

Xiaomi’s upcoming tablet marks the first use of the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor — no other tablet currently has the premium chip. It may allow the tablet to achieve flagship-level performance and raise the bar for high-end Android tablets. While no official specifications have been confirmed yet, the fact that it touts the Snapdragon 8 Elite bodes well that this tablet will feature top-of-the-line parts.

There will also be a high-resolution screen which will probably be an AMOLED or LTPO screen with a high refresh rate for smooth images. It should at least have 8GB of RAM, and possibly up to 12GB or 16GB, and have generously sized storage. It is also rumored to come with a large battery of over 10,000mAh capacity with support for fast charging. It will be powered by Android with Xiaomi’s custom MIUI for Pad interface. Xiaomi has a proven track record in delivering quality tablets, as seen with the Xiaomi Pad 6 series.

By integrating the Snapdragon 8 Elite, the company aims to position itself as a serious competitor in the premium tablet market, challenging devices like the iPad Pro and Samsung’s Galaxy Tab Ultra. If the rumors are accurate, Xiaomi’s new flagship tablet could debut in the second half of 2025. The company seems committed to creating a device that will excite Android enthusiasts and offer flagship-level performance in tablet form.
