The main display of Mi MIX Fold sports an 8.01 inches Quad HD+ AMOLED display and the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 flaunts a 7.6 inches Quad HD+ AMOLED display.

Talking about the external screen, the former has a 6.52 inches HD+ AMOLED display whereas the latter attributes a 6.23 inches HD+ AMOLED display. In terms of length, we can see Mi MIX Fold to a bigger than Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2.

The main difference comes in the refresh rate offered with the two devices. Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 comes with a 120 Hz refresh rate. Mi MIX Fold’s internal screen and the external screen have a refresh rate of 60 Hz and 90 Hz respectively.

Processor

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865+ which is weaker than when we compare it the chipset of Mi MIX Fold. The Mi MIX Fold is powered by Qualcomm’s strongest chipset which is Snapdragon 888.

The latter is coupled with up to 16 GB of RAM and up to 512 GB of internal storage (UFS 3.1) whereas the former has up to 12 GB of RAM and 512 GB of internal storage.

Camera

The Xiaomi Mi Mix Fold comes with a 108 MP main camera, an 8 MP telephoto sensor with 3x optical zoom, and a 13 MP ultrawide sensor and the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 has three 12 MP cameras (ultra-wide, telephoto and main sensor).

Xiaomi’s folding smartphone offers a 20 MP front snapper and Samsung’s device has a two 10 MP selfie camera (one on each display).

Battery

The Xiaomi is packed with a powerful 5020 mAh battery cell, which is split into two 2,460 mAh cells and is paired with a 67W fast charging support. The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 houses a weaker 4500 mAh battery cell and is paired with a 25W fast charging support.

Price

Mi MIX FOLD comes in three different storage variants.

  • 12 GB + 256 GB : 9,999 Yuan or about Rs 1.11 lakh
  • 12 GB + 512 GB : 10,999 Yuan or about 1.22 lakh
  • 16 GB + 512 GB : 12,999 Yuan or about Rs 1.45 lakh

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 is more expensive and comes at almost Rs 1,50,000.

Our Thoughts

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 has a bit smaller screen but offers a much higher refresh rate than Mi MIX Fold. Also, Xiaomi’s smartphone has a stronger mobile processor due to the presence of the Snapdragon 888 SoC. The battery specs also show that Xiaomi’s folding device is much more powerful and will run longer. The camera features of Xiaomi’s device are better than what Samsung offers with Galaxy Z Fold 2. Thus, due to better specs and a much lower price, we might tend towards the Mi Mix Fold smartphone.
