So, now, it’s time for Xiaomi to step into the tablet market in India after conquering the smartphone years back now. Obviously, you might think why didn’t it launch tablets in the first place in India? Well, we do not exactly know this, but, now maybe Manu Kumar Jain and his team have sought this as the perfect time to make the entry into this market in India.
As teased on Twitter by Xiaomi VP, or India’s most loving Xiaomi chief, he has teased with #KeepTabsOnUs along with a banner also a link that points out to a new launch event scheduled on 1st April at 12PM. So, you can easily assume that Xiaomi is about to launch a new tablet at the start of next month.
It is believed that Xiaomi is about to launch its latest launched Xiaomi Mi Pad 5 tablet in India launched a few months back in a lot of countries. Here are the specs of this upcoming tablet:
Xiaomi Mi Pad 5 Specifications
The Mi Pad 5 offers an 11-inch LCD screen bearing a 2,560 x 1,600 pixels resolution. It boasts a 120Hz refresh rate, TrueTone display, 500nits brightness, HDR10, and Dolby Vision support. In terms of audio, the Xiaomi Pad 5 is equipped with quad-speakers with support for Dolby Audio.
Internally, the Xiaomi Pad 5 is equipped with a Snapdragon 860 SoC coupled with up to 6GB RAM and 256GB UFS 3.1 storage. The device is powered by an 8,720mAh battery unit with support for 33W fast charging.
For photos and videos, the Pad 5 comes with a 13-megapixel camera sensor at the back, along with an LED flash, and an 8-megapixel selfie camera at the front with 1080p recording. The Pad 5 runs MIUI 12.5 based on Android 11. Connectivity-wise, the Mi Pad 5 features Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and a USB-C port.
Indian Pricing
In Indonesia, the Xiaomi Mi Pad 5 carries a decent price tag of Rp. 4,999,000 (~€299) which is a lot cheaper if you convert it to INR, sums up to only Rs.25k while in China it costs CNY 1999 – around Rs.23k for the base 6GB RAM and 128GB storage.
So, we suspect the Indian pricing to be in that Rs.20-Rs.25k price bracket considering Xiaomi’s very aggressive price strategy and as this is the first tablet launch, obviously, Xiaomi will be even more aggressive to lure customers. What’s your take on this? Let us know in the comments down below…😎
