Today (22nd June) Xiaomi drops its new Mouse to the market having built-in XiaoAI smart assistant. As you can expect, this new mouse can do more than controlling the mouse pointer. What are those? Let’s find out.
In the case of design, it looks similar to the Mi Wireless Mouse, except an additional red button under the scroll which is for the XiaoAI assistant. The body is made up of an antibacterial case, holding the metal scroll and hiding a microphone. Obviously, inside it, there are circuits and other stuff too.
The mouse has a built-in 750mAh battery which can serve up to 30 days of usage and 180 days of standby. At least, the company claims that. For charging, a Type-C port is present to the body.
Voice Assistant Functionalities:
To activate the XiaoAI assistant, you need to use the red key dedicated under the scroll. You can directly give commands in your voice through it. For example, if you say “Computer Shutdown”, it starts the process by itself.
You can also take advantage of the assistant while typing. It will take the voice as input and will type that for you. The translation from Chinese to English, Japanese, and Korean is also supported.
Two more interesting things are there in the connectivity section. Firstly, you will get both wired and wireless connectivity options. You can use the mouse by connecting it with the computer via the Type-C cable and also can use the Bluetooth 5.0 to go wireless. Secondly, it can be connected to two different computers at the same time. For switching the access, you only need to long-press the right or left click button.
Unfortunately, it’s not a global launch. The smart mouse is available only in China through the official website. The retail price is 149 yuan, but currently, it is on offer at 129 yuan.
