Xiaomi Civi 5 Pro Certified by 3C, Tipped to Feature Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 and 6000mAh Battery
As per their report, the Civi 5 Pro will be equipped with an off-the-shelf unannounced Qualcomm chipset with the model code SM8735. This chipset is likely the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4. If leaks are to be believed, it’ll feature one Cortex-X4 prime core at 3.21GHz, three Cortex-A720 cores at 3.01GHz, two extra A720 cores at 2.80GHz, and two efficiency A720 cores at 2.02GHz. The GPU will be the Adreno 825, though Qualcomm has yet to confirm these details.
In terms of design and battery life, a previous report suggests that the Civi 5 Pro will be around 7mm thick and house a 6000mAh battery—an upgrade from the 4700mAh unit in the Civi 4 Pro. As for the camera setup, it is likely to retain its predecessor’s 50MP periscope telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom. Xiaomi has not yet announced a launch date, but considering the Civi 4 Pro debuted in March last year, its successor is overdue.
However, with the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 rumored to launch in April, Xiaomi may wait until the chipset is officially unveiled before introducing the Civi 5 Pro. Additionally, Xiaomi is expected to follow its usual strategy of rebranding the Civi 5 Pro for global markets as the Xiaomi 15 Civi. The device has already appeared in the IMEI database with two model numbers—25067PYE3C for China and 25067PYE3I for India—suggesting an international launch under a different name.
