Xiaomi is getting to ready to unveil its new flagship, the Xiaomi 15 Ultra, which serves as the successor to the previous year’s Xiaomi 14 Ultra. Xiaomi’s President and General Manager of the smartphone division Lu Weibing has confirmed that, soon enough, it will be February, the month in which the Xiaomi 15 Ultra will be officially announced in China.

The announcement was made in a TikTok Q&A with Weibing, who concluded that the launch of the smartphones would happen soon after the Chinese Spring Festival, held between January 29 and February 12. The in-house device is slated to go on sale worldwide around the same time, although Xiaomi hasn’t yet confirmed an exact date of availability.

Xiaomi 15 Ultra Confirmed for February Launch, Global Debut Likely at MWC 2025

Expect the Xiaomi 15 Ultra to be officially unveiled on the global market around the same time as the Mobile World Congress MWC 2025, taking place on March 3 in Barcelona. With this, Xiaomi seems to follow the same release strategy as its last model too — the Xiaomi 14 Ultra, which was first launched in China and a few days later hit the global markets. In the next few weeks, Xiaomi will likely set the mood for the next flagship, ahead of its official release.

Early rumors and leaks suggested that the Xiaomi 15 Ultra would come with a number of significant upgrades, including a new circular camera island. The smartphone is expected to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor and equipped with a large 6,000mAh battery. Additional features are rumored to include satellite connectivity and eSIM support, marking a first for Xiaomi’s Ultra series.

The Xiaomi 15 Ultra has already received BIS certification, confirming its launch in India. Its predecessor, the Xiaomi 14 Ultra, was introduced in India last March with a starting price of ₹99,900. This suggests a similar launch window and price point for the upcoming flagship. With its advanced features and global rollout, the Xiaomi 15 Ultra is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated releases in the smartphone market this year.
