Xiaomi 15 Ultra: First Look at Design and Specifications

The Xiaomi 15 and Xiaomi 15 Pro are due to be shown off by the Chinese company later this month, with the top model — at least when it comes to this series — being a follow-up product early next year in the form of the Xiaomi 15 Ultra. We’ve published a bunch of spec and feature details for the 15 Ultra before, and now we might have our first look at what that design could be. Those schematics detail a massive camera setup for the Xiaomi 15 Ultra, as shown in the leak.

Leaks About the Xiaomi 15 Ultra

The Xiaomi 14 Ultra camera module design on the back also looks familiar but the lens layout is a bit different. The new model has one lens positioned at the top, while three others are located below, in contrast to the Xiaomi 14 Ultra, which has two lenses on each side. This top-most one should be a 200MP periscope telephoto lens with the Samsung ISOCELL HP9 sensor from the Vivo X100 Ultra.

This would be an improved spec over the 50MP Sony IMX858 camera in the S14 Ultra. Below that, we see an alleged 1-inch primary camera (possibly matching the 14 Ultra) believed to be a Sony LYT-900 sensor at 50MP with OIS. The ultrawide and telephoto cameras also seem to go unchanged, probably behind the same 50MP Sony IMX858 lens. Other features include an ultrawide camera with 122-degree field of view, a telephoto lens with 75mm focal length, complemented by Leica tuning throughout.

And from the front, the device is very reminiscent of flat edges and a punch-hole cutout in the display. The Xiaomi 15 Ultra should be launched with Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 or the rumored Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC under the hood, with up to 24GB of RAM. It will pack a large 6,200mAh built-in battery for long hours of usage and should boot HyperOS 2.0 based on Android 15 out-of-the-box.

It is expected that the Xiaomi 15 Ultra will offer a micro-arc four-curved surface design, and a 2K display, with an ultrasonic in-screen fingerprint sensor for secure unlocking. Additionally, it is expected to be available in three material finishes: plain leather, fiberglass, or ceramic, providing various options to cater to different tastes and styles.
