Xiaomi 15 Series Global Launch Set for March 2 at MWC 2025

Xiaomi has officially confirmed the global launch of its Xiaomi 15 series at MWC Barcelona on March 2, 2025. The lineup includes a vanilla Xiaomi 15 and a camera-centric Xiaomi 15 Ultra, both of which have major upgrades over the predecessors.

Xiaomi is known for its emphasis on photography, and its high-end model will be no different. It has a 200MP periscope telephoto lens with 4.3x optical zoom alongside a large 1-inch Sony LYT-900 primary sensor for better low-light and zoom photography. CEO Lei Jun revealed sample images that demonstrate the Ultra’s night photography abilities. A 5,410mAh battery should be the capacity of the 15 Ultra globally, a little smaller than the 6,000mAh we previously heard for the Chinese iteration.

However, it retains fast charging support with 90W wired and 80W wireless charging. Other highlights include a 6.73-inch 2K LTPO AMOLED panel with a 1–120Hz adaptive refresh rate, Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, and an IP68/69 rating for water and dust resistance. The Ultra’s quad-camera system includes a 50MP Samsung JN5 ultrawide lens, a 50MP Sony IMX858 3x telephoto sensor, and Leica-enhanced imaging software. Global variants will be offered in black, white, and silver, with 512GB or 1TB of storage depending on the region.

The regular Xiaomi 15, which made its debut in China in late 2024, offers a 6.36-inch 120Hz OLED screen, Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC, and a 5,400mAh cell with 90W wired charging. The global models will offer 12GB RAM and up to 512GB storage. As for pricing, a recent Dealabs report claims the Xiaomi 15 (512GB) will be priced at €1,099 in Europe, while the Xiaomi 15 Ultra (512GB variant) is expected to cost €1,499. These flagship models aim to compete with the top premium smartphones of 2025.
