The Xiaomi 12 Ultra will be launching with a Leica logo on the back, right above the camera setup. We know that the Chinese smartphone maker has partnered with Leica to develop the best cameras for Xiaomi‘s flagship devices in order to offer the most breathtaking experience. We have access to an image of the rear panel courtesy of the tipster Digital Chat Station on Weibo.
Xiaomi 12 Ultra will be the first phone apart from the Leitz 1 Phone to carry Leica’s branding:
The tipster has provided a confirmation that Leica will put its branding on the Xiaomi 12 Ultra. He has also specified that the smartphone’s rear panel will feature a black leather or white ceramic finish. The leather version will have a smooth texture just like real leather.
Leica has not sported its logo on other smartphone brands that it has worked with, Huawei has integrated Leica’s lens before but it has not placed the brand’s logo on the rear. Zeiss is another brand that has done this but it has always added its iconic blue branding on the lenses of the smartphones that it has worked with.
In the optics department, the flagship smartphone will arrive with a triple camera setup on the rear with a 50MP primary sensor with a 24mm wide camera, a 48MP periscope zoom 120mm lens, and a 48MP ultrawide lens with a 12mm sensor.
Despite both the brands making their partnership public, the first device that they have worked together on will make its way to the markets in July. It will either be the Xiaomi 12 Ultra or the 12S.
