Barcelona suffered a humiliating defeat in the hands of Bayern Munich in the Champions League quarter-finals. Bayern was so dominant that even Lionel Messi couldn’t rescue Barcelona. They suffered a heavy defeat of 8-2.

All the Barcelona players and fans were left in despair on that shameful night. No one thought that Barcelona would fall to the bottom.

After that defeat, it is almost confirmed that Quique Setien will be sacked but the players want changes everywhere in the club, including the Barcelona board. Barcelona has called for a meeting today and the final decisions will be announced after that.

Former Barcelona midfielder Xavi Hernandez has been linked with a return to Camp Nou. He is currently the coach of Qatar side Al Sadd.

When Ernesto Valverde was sacked, Xavi was offered the job but he declined as he felt he wasn’t yet ready to take charge. Reportedly, he didn’t want to join under Bartomeu. He would only take the Camp Nou job after a new club president is elected in 2021, but the presidential election in most probably will be preponed to this year.

But a surprising news has come up. Xavi has told that he would like to coach in the Premier League. He didn’t rule out a future in England.

The Spain World Cup winner told Sky Sports: “Obviously if I had to choose, I would choose a big team, City or United, Chelsea, Arsenal or Tottenham.”

“Also, [Jurgen] Klopp and [Mauricio] Pochettino and Unai Emery, many people who have gone there are doing an extraordinary job”.

Xavi was all in praise of his former coach Pep Guardiola under whom Barcelona had their golden days. Guardiola is currently the coach of Manchester City and he has suffered a controversial exit from the Champions League.

He said: “Pep Guardiola is the best coach in the world and I am a novice. The comparison happened as a player but now we can’t be compared. I am in love with Pep Guardiola’s football.”

“You can win playing football in different ways but I like the one of City and Guardiola the most. I follow the Premier League a lot and I like it”.

As things stand now until Bartomeu is at the helm, Xavi won’t return to the Camp Nou. He would rather prefer to come to England and have a future in the Premier League.
