PSG youngster Xavi Simons is considering an exit from the capital club next summer. The 18-year-old currently plays with the PSG under 19 team, and only has one year remaining on his current deal.
The club offered him a contract extension first in June, and have continued to try. But the player is yet to commit to a future at Paris Saint-Germain. The main concern is from his agent, Mino Raiola. If Xavi Simons does not get ample playing time in the first team, then Raiola wants to take his client elsewhere.
Since he only has one year remaining on his contract, he will be able to walk out for free next June. A number of German and Spanish clubs, including his former club, Barcelona, are keeping tabs on his situation. The decision has not been made yet, and there is still a chance that he could end up staying at the club.
Xavi Simons has attracted a lot of interest and praise from other clubs in Europe due to his talent. He has only made two appearances for the first team, and has also appeared for the Netherlands under 19s. The teenager is an attacking midfielder that can also be deployed as a centre-forward.
This season, in the UEFA Youth League, he has racked up four assists and two goals in four games. The numbers speak for themselves, and he is slowly shaping up to be a top talent for the future. PSG might be losing a top talent by letting him walk away for nothing next summer.
