October was a game-changing month for the WWE in terms of merchandise sales. While John Cena is almost always in the top five superstars to sell the most products, the former World Champion was overtaken by a new fan-favourite this past month.
The current Undisputed WWE Champion, Roman Reigns, was not even in the top five although his cousin, Jey Uso, came in at fifth. The Crown Jewel event will see Reigns defend his title against the highest merchandise seller for October, while Cena will be in action against Solo Sikoa in a singles match.
WWE merchandise sales rankings for October: LA Knight takes top spot
After his meteoric rise to a main event spot in the last few months, LA Knight has become the highest merchandise seller for the WWE in October. Formerly known as Max Dupri, Knight will face Roman Reigns for the Undisputed title in the main event of Crown Jewel in Saudi Arabia.
John Cena ranks second, while Cody Rhodes is third placed followed by the legendary Stone Cold Steve Austin. He is followed by Jey Uso, Roman Reigns, Rhea Rhipley and the nWo.
With Cody Rhodes and Damian Priest both expected to eventually win the title at some point, it will be interesting to see whether WWE decides to have LA Knight dethrone Roman Reigns considering the kind of streak he is on. Reigns’ momentum has dwindled down, after making only a few appearances every month, causing the company to bring out another world title which Seth Rollins currently holds.
A win for LA Knight would allow the titles to gain more relevance, but only time will tell he capitalises on his merch selling run.
