After the auction for franchise ownership got done, it is time for the player auction of WPL. BCCI has stated that instead of going with the draft procedure, an auction will be held just like the Indian Premier League.

Women’s cricket has gained a lot of attention in the past few years and starting a T20 league for female cricketers will increase and make it even more mainstream. Just like IPL, the WIPL is going to give lesser-known cricketers more opportunities to get featured in the national team. The top female cricketers around the world will be participating in this league.

Unlike IPL, this league will take place in Maharashtra.

The teams can select up to 15-18 players. A total of 5 foreign players will be there in the Playing XI out of which one player will be from the associate nation.
