Wout Weghorst is all set to join Manchester United from Burnley. The striker was at Besiktas from the start of the season on a loan deal. And there was no option to recall him included.

But upon United’s interest, they have reached an agreement over a €3 million compensation for the Turkish side. The Premier League giants will sign Weghorst on a loan deal, which seems to be until the end of the season.

The transfer has been given the here we go signal by Fabrizio Romano, and all parties have signed the documents related to the move. Wout Weghorst will undergo his medical after flying to Manchester soon, and will then be officially presented as a new signing for the club.

He was singled out by Erik Ten Hag as the preferred transfer target to bolster their frontline. And the Dutch manager will be getting his man, who has been very eager to make the switch to Old Trafford.

Manchester United have been left short-staffed in the striker department after the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo. While Anthony Martial is the natural option, his fitness issues have prevented him from being available consistently. And a strong and dominant physical presence provided by Weghorst will add a whole new dimension to the team’s attacking play up front.

With their primary objective in the transfer market accomplished, it now remains to be seen whether United will go for any other players during the January transfer window.
