World's largest cricket stadium, Motera Stadium, has now been renamed as Narendra Modi Stadium

The Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Stadium, commonly known as the Motera stadium, situated in Ahmedabad, Gujrat, is the world’s biggest cricket stadium. It is owned by the Gujarat Cricket Association and is a venue for Test, ODI, and T20I cricket matches in India.

The renovated Motera stadium was inaugurated by President Ram Nath Kovind today ahead of the India vs England third test, which will be a Day and Night test. Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Gujarat Governor Acharya Devvrat, Sports Minister Kiren Rijiju, and BCCI Secretary Jay Shah were also present at the event.

The world’s largest cricket stadium, previously known as Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Stadium, commonly known as Motera Stadium, has now been renamed as Narendra Modi Stadium.

The seating capacity of the renovated Narendra Modi Stadium has been increased from 1,10,000 to 1,32,000. It was already the largest stadium with its 1,10,000 capacity and has now an even bigger capacity.

The Narendra Modi Stadium is spread out across over 64 acres has three entrances. It has 76 air-conditioned corporate boxes with a capacity of 25 each, an Olympic size swimming pool and 4 rooms, a parking area which may accommodate around 3000 automobiles and 10,000 two-wheelers. The stadium also has a clubhouse with 55 rooms, a gymnasium, indoor training grounds and food courts. It has no floodlights instead LED lights are being installed on the roof.

The third test between India and England will start on 24th February, in the Narendra Modi Stadium. The Day and Night Test will begin at 2:30 pm IST.

    The headline is misleading. The Sports complex was and is still called Sardar Patel Sports Complex. It was the stadium which was called Motera Stadium which is now renamed to Narendra Modi Stadium.
