After being defeated by India, Pakistan fell short by 1 run against Zimbabwe in Perth on Thursday. Pakistan scored 128 runs and Zimbabwe’s total was 130/8. It was a huge blow to the men in Pakistan as they are in a difficult position to qualify for the semifinals. Sikandar Raza gave an exceptional performance, picking 3 wickets in four overs. Babar Azam got out cheaply managing to score only four runs. Rizwan got out in 14 and Iftikhar couldn’t make more than 5 runs. Zimbabwe had a strong start and Haris Rauf gave the first breakthrough. Shadab and Wasim dismissed a total of four players in their innings.

Pakistan’s loss was completely unexpected and the team got down to the fifth position of Group 2 T20 World Cup 2022 with 0 belts. The team needs to win all three matches to get to the semifinals. However, if any of the teams have a better run rate, they will be out of the race. Though, the loss was completely unexpected.

Ex-Pakistan bowler Shoaib Akhtar criticized the Pakistan cricketing system as the Playin XI failed to chase 131 runs against Zimbabwe in the T20 World Cup. Pakistan’s two losses in a row have put them in a very hard position.

Zimbabwe shooked the entire world after they defeated Pakistan by 1 run. Celebrations started happening as soon as fans from all around the world. Zimbabwe’s flag was held high and their countrymen sang for the players as they made an impact in the T20 World Cup and made Pakistan’s journey to the semifinals more difficult.

In order to ensure that player salaries were paid on time, the Zimbabwe Professional Cricketers’ Association had to implore ZC in 2014 to set aside 25% of their T20 World Cup income. Considering that the request was initially refused out of hand if it seems puzzling that it needed to be made at all. Cricket has never really loved the South African country but this win has definitely motivated them and the lesser popular cricketing countries.
