The FIFA World Cup is finally here. The biggest football tournament is about to start on 20th November 2022 with hosts Qatar taking on Ecuador. Before the start of the inaugural match, FIFA have organised an opening ceremony for the mega event. It will most likely be a splendid ceremony with many stars performing in front of billions of fans worldwide.

FIFA has managed to agree on media rights licensing deal for the tournament with all 195 countries recognised by United Nations. This means the whole world will have their eyes on the tournament.

FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022: When and How to watch the opening ceremony LIVE in India?

The opening ceremony of the Qatar World Cup is scheduled to take place 2 hours prior to the kickoff of the first match of the tournament between Qatar and Ecuador. The match is scheduled to start at 9:30 pm IST, so the opening ceremony will begin at 7:30 pm IST. It will be held at the Al Bayt Stadium.

You can watch the opening ceremony on Sports18 and Sports18 HD TV channels. And, if you want to live stream, then you can download the JioCinema app or watch it on the JioCinema website for free.

FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 Opening ceremony: Who will be performing at the event?

There is no official performers list till now. However, there have been various reports and rumours of the possible stars performing at the opening ceremony of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.

South Korea’s BTS said Jungkook, one of seven members of the boy band, would perform a track titled “Dreamers” at the ceremony. American musical group Black Eyed Peas and Nigerian singer and songwriter Patrick Nnaemeka Okorie are also on the reported performers’ list.

Indian actress and dancer Nora Fatehi will also be performing at the opening ceremony. American rapper, Lil Baby, who released an official anthem for the sponsor Budweiser for the 2022 World Cup, may perform as well.

However, Dua Lipa and Shakira have declined the offers to perform at the opening ceremony.
