Atletico Madrid recently terminated Diego Costa’s contract, and the player is currently a free agent. Many clubs all across the world are all gunning for the former Spanish international’s signature.

Wolves were one of the clubs that were rumoured to be interested in the striker, potentially building on their already impressive squad. However, speaking on the topic on the Here We Go podcast on Patreon, Fabrizio Romano squashed all the rumours linking Costa to a move to the Midlands.

Arsenal were among the other names thrown around as the potential destination for the striker. But right now, the Gunners are happy with their current line of forwards and don’t want to sign the former Chelsea star.

Costa is reportedly favouring a move back to the Premier League, having spent a successful spell with Chelsea that lasted 3.5 years. The Brazilian born managed to score 58 and provide 24 assists in 120 appearances for the Blues, and at 32, can still give a few good years to any club he signs for.

The main deterrent in the situation is Costa’s demand for a salary worth €8 million per season, which is something that not many clubs can afford.

There is no rush on the situation, and the striker is believed to be weighing up all his options before committing to his next project.
