Manchester United are still in the FA Cup, after being eliminated from the Europa League by Sevilla. And they have a good chance of making it to the finals, with a tie against Brighton set in the semifinals.

But will Cristiano Ronaldo receive a medal if United win the FA Cup? They have already won the Carabao Cup, and could make it a domestic double if they can win the final. But, whether or not their former player will have a winner’s medal is a question on the minds of fans.

UEFA and the English FA have similar rules when it comes to awarding winners medals for their competitions. Which means that Manchester United will receive a total of 40 medals if they win the competition. How they choose to allot that depends on the club, and whether they see it as something to carry out.

Cristiano Ronaldo was quite impressive for United in his first season back. But, under Erik Ten Hag, things didn’t really work out for him. Moreover, he didn’t feature in Manchester United’s FA Cup or Carabao Cup games either. Which means it really is up to the club whether they want to award him a medal.

The relationship between the player and his former club remains unclear, considering the manner of his exit. The interview with Piers Morgan led to a mutual termination of his contract right before the World Cup. And he is now playing for Al-Nassr in Saudi Arabia, having joined them in the winter.
